Emin Agalarov appointed head of Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council

A regular meeting of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council was held in Baku with the participation of officials and about a hundred representatives of various sectors of the economy.

Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov emphasized the development of cooperation between the two countries and noted the importance of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council partnership mechanism in the context of diversifying trade and economic relations.

The current chairman of the council, Samad Gurbanov, spoke about the work being done to develop trade and business ties between the two countries and support the interests of the Azerbaijani business community.

Elections to the Council's board were held during the event. Emin Agalarov, founder of Agalarov Development, was elected chairman of the board of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council, while Yusef Abdullayev, executive director of AZPROMO, and Gambard Banenarly, director of Nardaran Invest LLC, were elected deputy chairmen of the board.

Emin Agalarov noted the importance of the Council's activities in promoting business dialogue between entrepreneurs and expanding partnership opportunities for the business communities of both countries.

The Business Council, which has been operating since 2016, actively cooperates with the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Russian-Azerbaijani Business Council, and other government agencies and relevant public organizations of the two countries.
