On May 20, Sea Breeze hosted the signing ceremony for the construction of the multifunctional Sea Breeze Arena complex, along with the presentation of the project’s future concept. The agreement was signed by Emin Agalarov, founder of the Sea Breeze resort city and President of Agalarov Development, and Hamid Faramazov, founder of FN Sports & Development.
Commenting on the project, Emin Agalarov stated:
“This is very emotional for me because the very first infrastructure facility in Sea Breeze was a small football field. Twenty years ago, my team and I used to play football there together. Today, looking at this project, it is hard to believe that Sea Breeze will soon have a true arena that will become a landmark part of our rapidly developing infrastructure.”
Hamid Faramazov, in turn, emphasized the symbolic significance of presenting the project during WUF13 hosted in Azerbaijan. According to him, Sea Breeze has already become a venue for large-scale international events and, in the future, has the potential to become one of the region’s leading sports destinations.
Sea Breeze Arena is envisioned as a large-scale next-generation multifunctional complex, bringing together sports, entertainment, tourism, and public infrastructure into a unified year-round ecosystem on the Caspian coast. The project is scheduled for completion by mid-2027.
The centerpiece of the development will be a modern football stadium built in accordance with FIFA and UEFA international standards. The arena’s initial capacity will accommodate 5,000 spectators, with the possibility of future expansion to 8,000 seats. The stadium will also include nine premium hospitality suites for partners, sponsors, and distinguished guests.
The concept of the complex is designed as an international multifunctional venue for sporting tournaments, concerts, festivals, show programs, and major public events. The site will also feature a martial arts arena, the European Elite Football Academy based on methodologies from leading European football schools, a concert and festival venue, restaurants, cafés, fan zones, and contemporary public spaces.
One of the project’s key components will be the social and entertainment district surrounding the stadium, featuring pedestrian boulevards, LED fan zones, concert площадки, interactive spaces, and branded retail stores.
Special attention has been given to creating the atmosphere of a next-generation sports city. The complex will include the Football Legends Boulevard, Sea Breeze Fan Wall, Fan Shop, and a Drive-In Cinema — an open-air movie theater located on the Caspian coastline.
Among the invited guests were representatives of the diplomatic corps, including Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Alim Bael, and Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Azerbaijan Berlian Helmi. Guests also included UEFA referee inspector Asim Khudiyev and football referee Gulyana Guvendiyeva, who previously played for the Azerbaijan women’s national football team.
Sea Breeze Arena is set to become a new symbol of Azerbaijan’s modern infrastructure, bringing together sports, culture, tourism, and lifestyle within a single international concept. The implementation of the project will strengthen the region’s tourism and investment appeal, while the signing of the construction agreement has become one of the landmark events of Sea Breeze’s anniversary year, highlighting the scale and ambition of the resort city’s future development.
