ENZO Hotel Moscow hosted the official opening of two new dining destinations by Emin Agalarov and the AGALAROVREST restaurant group: Italian restaurant il Monte and contemporary Chinese restaurant SHAOLIN.
The evening brought together leading figures from entertainment, media, business and Moscow’s social scene, offering guests an opportunity to discover the restaurants’ distinctive concepts, interiors and culinary styles.
Guests included Emin Agalarov, Yana Rudkovskaya, Yulia Baranovskaya, Yulia and Alexander Samedov, Victoria and Oleg Shelyagov, Gosha Kartsev, Serdar Kambarov, Maria Shurochkina, Gosha Kutsenko, Roza Zergerli, Galina Rzhaksenskaya, Yulianna Viner, Laura Gavrilova, Olga Myagkikh, Irina Tchaikovskaya, Olga Panchenko, Lidia Alexandrova, Yulia Kudryavtseva, Konstantin and Olga Andrikopoulos, Andrey Fomin, Karina Oshroeva, Anna Makarova, Alina Kovaleva, Daria Korobova and many others.
The evening began with a welcome reception in the hotel lobby, accompanied by live music from a cover band and informal conversations in the photo area. Guests were also introduced to Chinese cultural traditions through a classic tea ceremony, while a calligrapher created personalised messages in Chinese for them to take home as keepsakes.
The centrepiece of the evening was the official opening ceremony, during which Emin Agalarov and his partner, developer Anvar Ilshatovich Mametov, cut the ribbons at the entrances to il Monte and SHAOLIN. The celebration continued with gala dinners at both restaurants. Special menus created for the occasion showcased each venue’s signature dishes and culinary vision.
At il Monte, the menu featured vitello tonnato with truffle, carabinero prawn carpaccio with black caviar, gnocchi with langoustines, and porcini mushroom and truffle risotto, among other dishes. SHAOLIN served a selection that included smashed cucumber salad, Sichuan-style chicken wings, tom yum prawns and classic Peking duck. An assortment of desserts rounded off the dinner.
The event was supported by Sea Breeze, a resort city on the picturesque Caspian coast; premium fitness club network Crocus Fitness; professional haircare brand ICE Professional; property developer Mangazeya; and LUJE by Mubo, a new-format beauty apartment concept.
il Monte celebrates the flavours of Italy and the culinary discoveries its team has brought back to Moscow from their travels. The kitchen is led by brand chef Kirill Berger, whose menu reimagines classic Italian dishes through a contemporary, signature approach.
The restaurant places particular emphasis on premium ingredients, clarity of flavour, balanced textures and precise execution. Olive oil, prosciutto, bresaola, aged cheeses, tomatoes, lemons and capers feature prominently across the menu, while selected dishes are finished tableside. Head bartender Evgeny Maksimov has created a drinks list that combines timeless classics with original cocktails.
SHAOLIN offers a contemporary take on Chinese cuisine. The kitchen is headed by chef Xiao Li, a native of Hainan province. His menu brings together several Chinese culinary traditions, carefully balancing flavours, textures and temperatures.
The restaurant serves delicate Cantonese dishes, bold and spicy Sichuan flavours, and Beijing specialities centred around duck and handmade dough. Traditional recipes are reinterpreted using premium meats, fresh seafood, deeply flavoured broths and complex, layered sauces. A carefully curated tea selection is another defining feature of the concept.
The interiors of both restaurants were designed by Valery Lizunov and the Archpoint studio. While the two spaces share a refined aesthetic and a strong focus on materials and detail, each has its own distinctive character and visual identity.
il Monte and SHAOLIN are located within ENZO Hotel Moscow, which occupies the first seven floors of the Poklonnaya 9 complex. The five-star urban resort features 130 rooms and residences, the SHAKIROVA SPACE event venue, restaurants, a bar, the 3,600-square-metre premium Crocus Fitness Kutuzovsky club, and a 25-metre swimming pool beneath a glass dome. Both restaurants initially opened in soft-launch mode and have been fully operational since July. Including their summer terraces, each venue can accommodate up to 120 guests.
Address: 9 Poklonnaya Street, Moscow.
